 Tutorial: How to suggest a Daily Deviation

This is for suggestions from the PHOTOMANIPULATION and Digital Mixed Media galleries. For a list of all current Gallery Directors, follow this link: [link]

Last DD must be longer than 3 months ago

Receiving a DD gives the artist a certain exposure. For the sake of fairness and to allow the artist to actually develop their style and techniques (and not get a DD for "the same thing twice"), there's a minimum of 3 months since the last feature.
Previous DDs can be checked by going to the bottom of the artist's gallery page and clicking Browse and on the "artist's daily deviations" link (will only be visible if there actually are DDs to show).

Stock sources must be listed

I can not DD a piece - no matter how wonderful it is - if I cannot be reasonably certain that no copyrighted material has been used. It is also encouraged that you state in the description somewhere that you have used your own photographic material. This helps me and the community here in making a statement - the statement being that copyrighted material is prohibited and that crediting stockers is not just a courtesy, but in most cases it is a condition under which stockers let you use their resources in the first place.
Stock usage and policies: [link]

Direct links to the stock provider and/or stock image is very much preferred. (Outside stock as well as dA)

FAQ #217: What are "Stock Photos" and can I use "Stock Photos" in my submissions?
FAQ #157: Can I use things created by other people in my submissions?

If used own photography or stock, drop a line in your Artist's Comment. :)

Note me with the thumbnail to the piece you want to see featured

Although I may not reply to you all, I do read and review each suggestion note I receive.

:bulletblue: Please link me in the form of a thumbnail! I'll love you forever. ;)
You will find the thumb code below the deviation. It looks like this:

Copy and past it into the Note.

:bulletblue: You can also click 'Share This/Blog it' which you can find to the left of the deviation.
FAQ #270: What is the "Share This & Blog It" feature and how do I use it? Can I disable my deviations from this service?
This automatically creates a Note with a thumbnail.

:bulletblue: Tell me why you'd like this particular deviation to receive a DD!
- If you would like to include a write-up (The text that will appear under the DD) you're welcome to do so; if it sounds good and the proper length, I'll use it. Please don't write an essay on why that deviant deserves a DD. I pick DDs for the artistic merit I see within a piece rather than buddy favours.

:bulletblue: Send as many as you like. :) (one thumb/suggestion per note plz)

If you see a DD that you had suggested, but another name is in the suggestor's field, this means that several deviants has suggested the same piece; first come, first served.

I love it. You know how ImageReady allowed you to animate, well, now you can compile the animation in PS then export the completed image to IR and save it for animating. You can also do rollovers directly in PS amongst a few other things. Not much else is different tho.

i love PS CS2. to really see the differences though, you'll just have to try it for yourself. i like the way the filters menu is when you pull it up, because it gives you thumbnails of the different filters...heh.

Sounds great! :)
Any new features in PS CS2 in general?

Nice! I like the filters, but thought the filters menu were somewhat impractical.

Thanks! :D

I haven't noticed anything different from CS, but if I do, I'll let you know. :)

I'm sure there is too, but with this being my first real version of Photoshop, I probably missed it somewhere. Plus, I have the educational version currently since I ordered it through my college's bookstore. ^.^

One of the new features I love about PS CS2 is the warp transform. That is bloody brilliant! ;)

And also the fact that you can disable other layers than the one you're currently working on.

I find more improvements the more I work in Photoshop. Very pleased indeed! :pc:
