Holy mother, it's been far too long since I've tended to my own gallery. It feels like a relief to finally do so.
-------
My initial thought for this was to make a field full of growing humanoids. In the attempt I found that setting one human in the front centre worked much better for the composition, and I dropped the background 'crop' of humans. From the very conception of the idea I had envisioned it in blood red colors, so I used a blood stock image as an overlay.
The tree bork of the body consists of about 20 layers pieced together. I'm not much of a minimalist.
In my mind this might perhaps be a work in progress, but I'm happy to let it go now. I can obsess about details for days. Not good. lol
it looks to be on a slight angle; that just throws it off for me.. from the lower half of the pole to just above where you've put your watermark doesnt have that much colour variance to the lower half of the background; its making that section appear flat.
I put it in an angle on purpose to indicate neglect of care from the 'farmer's' side. What would you have done with the 'flat' section? I did try increasing the saturation, but that only looked cartoonish. I want the red to stand out.

There are a lot of themes that run through the stock gallery many people have similar ideas but they pull them off in different ways. In this series of newsletters we will look at similar ideas but different outcomes.
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 10 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
When it comes to community spirit, `Rushy is a shining example. From participating in devmeets, to providing positive encouragement to other artists, `Rushy can always be found demonstrating what it really takes to be a true deviant. It's without any hesitation that we are delighted to award the Deviousness Award for July 2009 to `RushyRead More
